10 October 2005: Posh fascist hatemail

I received a very polite piece of hatemail this morning. I quote it in its entirety: "HAIL MOSLEY, CHESTERTON, LORD HAW HAW, BOTHAMLY, RAMSAY, WOLKOFF, LYMINGTON, THE MITFORDS!!!!!!!!!! Yours Sincerely, John Tucci."

Don't you love it when middle-class people are aggressive - they try to intimidate, but still sign off "yours sincerely". I also found myself asking whether this was the John Tucci on the web as an accountant, or the other John Tucci, who lives in Bolton.

The 'Hail' must be a misp-spelling of 'heil', and as for the idea that Chesterton, Mosley and Joyce were in some way allies - in hell they're fighting even now.

Anna Wolkoff's acheivement lay in a piece of spectacularly stupid espionage, which managed to convince MI5 that the massed ranks of British fascism were immediate threats to the secturity of the British state. As a result of Wolkoff, the Mosleys and their followers had to spend most of the 1939-45 war in detention as traitors.

You would have through that British fascists would have wanted to forget this embarrassing incident from their history, but evidently not.
